As someone who regularly ‘self-accuses’ of tidying to procrastinate, this blog post about ‘Clutter’ serves as some sort of therapy.

I enjoy a tidy desk, and I also appreciate how quickly my harmonious ecosystem can turn in to a pile of paper, pens and post-its. Jeff Goins takes a look at how messiness can harm both your creativity and your productivity, and gives some useful tips to get you heading in the right direction.

For me, it can often be as simple as knowing that a messy desk takes time to clear, so having a clear desk gets rid of that potential avenue for procrastination (or ‘Procravenue’). I’m pretty sure that logic works in some convoluted way.

Give it a read, give it a try and see how it affects your personal productivity – you can find it here.

Yes, it’s been a quiet few months on Sticks and Stones, ain’t nobody denying that.

In my defense, I am now married…

On 10 May I married my lovely wife Naomi – we had a fantastic day followed by a very relaxing honeymoon in Egypt.

In other news (because you’re so interested in my life), here is a little taste of what’s coming on the site – albeit dependent on the amount of time I have to process it all…

Keep an eye out – or open, at least, because out sounds painful.

P.S. A massive thank you to Olly Knight for our photography, I’m sure you’ll see a little more soon!

School of Rock 10 Year Reunion

This is one of my favourite ever youtube videos as of right now. Loved the original film when it came out, and this just warms my heart :)

Top Blog Posts of 2013

December 26th, 2013

It seems to me that now is the right kind of time to do a ‘Top Posts’ post for this year. Probably wise given that the year’s almost up.

Therefore it gives me great pleasure to announce the Top 10 Sticks and Stones blog posts for 2013 in descending order:

Note: It’s a little difficult to accurately judge numbers, because there were some days where views peaked but not necessarily related to an individual post.

Panic Station

October 29th, 2013

This is fantastically trippy and glitchy, and brings back so many memories of the gig. Wonderfully weird and so much colour! Is this actually what Japan is like?

I may already have posted this on the Sticks and Stones Facebook page, but it’s so good it’s worth sharing again.

Watch, enjoy.

As usual, life is busy. And crazy. And crazy busy.

I thought I would take a minute or two to share a few photos I took yesterday. They’re nothing particularly special photography wise, but it’s just a little snippet of my day I thought I’d share in lieu of any more substantial content.

Fake Rain

September 20th, 2013

Ok, so it’s not great, but I just had a little go at adding fake rain. Could be worse.

I’ve just uploaded a couple of new videos to Youtube, and I’m quite excited about them – quite different to stuff I’ve done before, or at least for a while.

Unfortunately the time hasn’t quite come to release them to the world, so I can’t really reveal anything yet, but it won’t be too long before they’re public and I can post them up here.

In the mean time, most of my recent videos are featured. Guess where. Videos page.

Leap Motion

July 2nd, 2013

And in the second of today’s tech posts, Leap Motion.

This is going to be big. I can see so many potential uses for this that I want to put it in every category under the sun.

Think Iron Man interaction with computers. I so want this. Lots.

The nice thing is that they’re bringing developers along for the ride too, meaning this is going to grow big time.

I’m sure there’s still a way to go, but, for me, this is the future.
